The Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia are continuing to closely monitor all information from the public health, CDC, local school systems, and the World Health Organization regard the ongoing issue of the Coronavirus in Georgia.

To limit the risk of exposure of COVID-19, Clubs in Greene County, Morgan County, Walton County, Barnesville-Lamar County, and Newton County will extend its closures to Friday, March 27. Our organization will continue to evaluate the evolving situation and release an update to closures Thursday, March 26 for parents and community members.

We know that our youth who need us the most, will be impacted the most. Therefore, we plan to continue operations as quickly as possible. Many of the schools in our region have made a decision to be closed for up to two weeks. For the Clubs located on school property, meetings with local school officials will take place next week to help determine the best decision to move us forward.

Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia is taking every step to keep our youth and communities safe. During the closure of our Clubs, every facility and all Club vehicles will undergo a sanitized/remediation process to ensure we’ve taken precautionary measures to keep our youth, staff, and Clubs safe.

What are these measures?

Continued communication with parents regarding closure updates
Following public health, CDC, and the World Health Organization’s recommendations
Sanitization remediation of all Club materials, rooms, and games equipment
Vehicle sanitization
Safety Videos and Equipment provided to our staff

We are continuing to monitor information from our local districts, the Governors Office, and BGCA. We are here for our community and our youth.
