BGCNCG Continues Education For Success
Learning new ways to engage the youth of North Central is a key component to successful club life and so continued education on training, new skills and methods is often taking place within club walls. Recently, staff members and volunteers from each Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia location met for a daylong event of training and fellowship at the Walton Boys & Girls Club.
Rotating in-group settings, staff and volunteers were given tools to help the youth of North Central thrive upon entering the club doors.
From teaching billiards, helping with homework, computer skills to basic relationship soft skills, the all day event was filled with positive lessons from each present member.
“We want to continue our efforts to turn our youth from ‘I think I can’ mentalities to ‘I know I can.’ And these workshops are a critical piece of ensuring that every day our staff steps into their roles, they’re prepared to face the challenges of cultivating positive youth development,” Bob Mackey, CEO of BGCNCG, said.
The after school programs for Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia kicked off August 14.
Serving more than 1,400 youth from Morgan, Walton, Greene and Newton, BGCNCG’s vision is to provide a world-class experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors. For more information or to donate, visit www.bgcncg.com.
